Eric is the President and founder of Great American Aquaculture. Prior to forming GAA, Eric spent many years researching the seafood and aquaculture industries both in the US and abroad. In addition, he brings to his role at the Company broad experience in both the water filtration technology and investment banking/finance sectors. Prior to founding Great American Aquaculture in 2013, Eric lead several venture stage companies focused on developing disruptive water filtration products and systems for industrial markets. He began his career on Wall Street, working for many years in the investment banking division of Dillon Read & Co. Inc. before forming his own private banking firm that focused on providing financial advisory services to industrial companies, particularly those in the water and environmental services sectors.
Eric received an MBA from The Wharton Graduate School of Business in 1987 and was graduated from Princeton University with a BA degree in 1982. He is married with two children.
Matt joined GAA after having worked at Pentair AES for several years in a variety of capacities, most recently as the manager of Pentair's aquaculture research facility in Apopka, FL. In this role, Matt was responsible for managing all aspects of the facility's recirculating aquaculture systems, nutritional needs and health of the fish and interaction with other areas within Pentair. Matt was graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science and Biology at the University of Miami and with a Masters of Marine Science degree at University of North Carolina Wilmington. He has authored numerous white papers on aquaculture and aquatic animal nutrition, some of which advanced research into plant based substitutes for fish meal in marine fish diets.
Jessica attended Roger Williams University where she majored in marine biology and minored in Aquaculture and Aquarium Science. Previously Jessica worked as Marine Fisheries observer, where she went out to sea with commercial fishermen and collected catch data. She is very excited to be part of the Great American Aquaculture team and will be actively working in our quarantine and nursery systems.
